TRAINS UNLIMITED, TOURS AND OUR GOALS

Trains Unlimited, Tours has been operating unique and spectacular railroad train adventures around the world for the railfan and tourist since 1985. We have a staff of professional travel agents, railroaders, and railfans that plan and operate our tours. Trains Unlimited, Tours is owned and operated by people who love trains, railroads and rail transportation. We maintain a very good working relationship with railroad management all over the world. We strongly believe that "It takes a railroader to know how railroads think and operate". Indeed, we understand railroad management because most of our staff are professional railroaders, both in the operating and management field, some still active and some now retired. Our Tours Manager has 27 years working for several railroads in a number of positions.

We have now operated over 1143 charter trains and private rail cars in 58 countries. Trains Unlimited, Tours was formed 24 years ago to promote train travel and to help railroad historical groups and museums preserve the rich history, rare documents and preceless equipment of the railroad heritage around the world. Over the years we have worked very closely with many railroad groups and museums to help raise funds for preservation, including the donation of money, free trips, drawings and other support. We are proud to have donated tens of thousands of dollars and hundreds of man hours to non-profit railroad clubs, groups and museums. We will continue to do so for many year to come.

Comment from David Baule, Excutive Producer

November 17, 2007

Dear Chris

This is just a brief note to fill you in a bit on the Patagonia steam trip. First, we all had a great time. The trip was up to the usual excellence we have experienced on your programs. We were able to get a good cross section of railfans and tourist which was very helful for our segment. We met some really great people along the way. Dale & Miryam and John did a great job in dealing with the unexpected and were well prepared, knowledgeable and helpful to all concerned.

One of these days, Chris, I am hopeful that Barb and I can do one of these as just plain old tourists, and I won't have to worry about a crew, video material, or anything other than enjoying the moment. Thanks for your help. It was quite a wonderful experience for all of us.

Dave Baule, Excutive Productor

PEACE OF MIND POLICY: Once you have booked on a tour and paid your deposit and at a later date you find you must cancel your booking, TUT allows all payments you made to be applied to a future tour with no cancellation penalties at all. You must cancel your reservation within 45 days of the tour starting date. You can then apply all of your monies toward any future tour that will be operated by TUT through December 31, 2009.

TOUR PRICE: All tour prices are subject to change without notice at any time. With the raising oil and fuel prices worldwide our suppliers including the railroad are demanding what they call "Fuel Surcharges" with any prior notice. We now see that many transportation companies worldwide are asking for a "Fuel Surcharge"

WEBSITE DISCOUNTS: We offer special website discounts from time to time. These discounts will be posted on our Quick Sale page on the TUT website or special letters will be mailed off to folks in our database. We also offer Discounts to a number of railroad club members around the world. Special membership discount pages are maintained by TUT and the clubs involved posting special prices for members. If you are interested in become a member of one of these clubs and then be able to receive a discounted price on your next booking please ask us which clubs we work with.

CHANGE OF ITINERARY: We reserve the right to substitute, change train routing, alter or modify the tour if any unexpected and unforeseen conditions beyond our control occur. As almost everyone knows, in the railroad industry last minute changes do occur.

TRAVEL INSURANCE: Mandatory for all tours costing over $500 per person. Many folks already have travel insurance and do not even know it. This insurance is included when you buy a tour using your Visa or Master Card. Check with your credit card company first, as you could already be covered. Credit card travel insurance meets all Trains Unlimited, Tours requirements and in which case you will not need to buy any insurance. For all TUT run tours we use the honor system. We do not police you looking for proof of travel insurance. We allow our clients to be on the honor system. We say it is mandatory and it is up to you to follow our requirements, but we do not Ask for proof. Note: If booking with any tour operated by GW Travel of England you must buy full travel insurance to meet their requirements and you must have a copy of your insurance policy that needs to be sent to GW Travel. Yes, they do police this and demand proof. They also do not accept The travel insurance provided by Visa and Master Card. You must buy your insurance from a company offering full travel insurance.

DEPOSITS AND FINAL PAYMENTS: The required deposit is due in our office within 14 days of making a booking. If not in our office by this date your booking will be cancelled. For most tours the final payment is due in our office 100 days before the start of the tour. Due dates are posted for each tour and will also be on your invoice and in some cases we will vary the due Date depending upon the tour in question.

MILEAGE COLLECTORS: Mileage collectors please take note before you book! Trains Unlimited, Tours does not cater just to mileage collectors. We cater to all people that enjoy the railroad hobby. We give strong warning that itinerary and route changes do happen and this is totally beyond our control when it does. If the only reason that you would want to book a tour with us is to collect the rare mileage, may we suggest that you be prepared for possible route changes. If you cannot deal with this then please do not book on the tour.

RESPONSIBILITY AND LIMITATION OF LIABILITY: We assume no responsibility for injury, sickness, damage, loss, additional expenses, accidental delay or irregularities which may be caused through willful or negligent acts or omissions on the part of the companies providing or engaging in transportation, accommodations or services related to the accomplishment of the tour including Trains Unlimited, Tours. We have no control on the timings of our charter trains and indeed passenger trains and charters can and do run late most of the time. We are not responsible for expenses incurred by tour members in preparing for the tour.

CANCELLATIONS: Trains Unlimited, Tours does not accept cancellations on the phone. Cancellations must be received by postal mail, e mail or fax before any refunds will be processed. Be sure and allow enough time if sending your written notice by the very slow US mail postal system. When a written cancellation is received in the Trains Unlimited, Tours office this will be the effective date of the cancellation. Please take note that it can take up to 60 days to process some refunds in but most cases refunds will be issued in half that time. We will process your refund on a first come first served basis. We also need to get your payments and paid funds back from the service providers, such as the railroads, bus companies and hotels before we can make the requested refund. Cancellation refund rules: 100 days prior to the start of any tour you will receive a full refund less a $250 per person administration fee. 99 to 75 days before the departure of any tour there will be a 80% cancellation penalty based on the full cost of the tour.
